This Privacy Policy explains how GaonSathi ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website gaonsathi.com and the GaonSathi Crop Doctor service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

GaonSathi is a village-services platform operated from Bakara, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, India. For any privacy question you can reach us at the contact details in Section 11.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what the Service needs to work:

Mobile number — you provide this to log in. We use it to send a one-time password (OTP) and to identify your account.
Crop photos (optional) — if you upload a photo of your crop, we send it for AI analysis so we can return a diagnosis.
Text questions (optional) — any question you type about your crop is sent for AI analysis.
Usage records — for each check we store the date/time, the crop and problem category identified, and a confidence level. This lets us apply usage limits and improve the Service. We do not permanently store your uploaded photos on our own servers.
A login token — stored in your own browser (local storage) to keep you signed in for up to 30 days.

We do not collect your name, precise location, contacts, or any payment card details.

3. How we use your information

To verify your identity and log you in via a WhatsApp OTP.
To analyse your crop photo/question and return a diagnosis and advice.
To enforce fair-use limits (e.g. a number of free checks per mobile number).
To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (basic rate-limiting).

4. WhatsApp (Meta)

We use the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) solely to deliver your login OTP message. Your mobile number is shared with WhatsApp for this purpose. Your use of WhatsApp is also governed by the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.

5. AI analysis (Google)

Crop photos and text questions are processed by Google's Gemini API to generate the diagnosis. This data is transmitted to Google for processing and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and applicable API terms. The AI result is guidance only and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified agricultural expert.

6. Hosting & storage (Cloudflare)

The Service runs on Cloudflare (Workers, D1 database, and KV storage). Your mobile number and usage records are stored in a Cloudflare database. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as a service provider.

7. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with the service providers named above (Meta/WhatsApp, Google, Cloudflare) strictly to operate the Service, or where required by law.

8. Data retention

We keep your mobile number and usage records for as long as your account is active. OTP codes expire within a few minutes. You may ask us to delete your account and associated records at any time (see Section 11); we will action reasonable requests promptly.

9. Your rights

Request access to the information we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Withdraw consent by stopping use of the Service and asking us to delete your account.

10. Children

The Service is intended for adults (farmers and their families) and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
